Kate Murphy
Psychology & Psychotherapy
Kate Murphy has been a Counsellor, Psychologist & Psychotherapist in the Inner-West of Sydney for 20 years.
Her approach is informed by her training in the Conversational Model of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
As a Psychologist Kate can help you learn skills and strategies to relieve your distress. With her additional training, she can help you identify the underlying causes of whatever troubles you and help facilitate more enduring change.
Working psychodynamically, she can help you to relieve symptoms such as anxiety, depression, unfulfilling relationship patterns, difficulty adjusting to change or feeling a pervasive sense of discontent. Psychotherapy can help you understand how your past experiences shape your current feelings and behaviours and help create new patterns and ways of relating to others and feeling about yourself.
Whether you are dealing with childhood or recent trauma, struggle with boundaries, are underachieving, feel like you don't belong, are not satisfied with your accomplishments, or simply feel stuck. Psychotherapy can help you make changes by exploring how your previous experiences might affect your current responses, relationships and self-perception. Kate will help you discover healthier, more satisfying, creative ways to live.
No matter the issues you want to resolve Kate will support your journey to discover healthier, more satisfying, creative ways to live.
